$27K raised for Monica
A GoFundMe for a local woman with cancer has surpassed the halfway point of its goal.
The fundraiser for Monica has reached $27,000 as of July 28, with a total goal of $50,000. The GoFundMe began on July 15 when five of her friends got together and hoped to rally the community for the cause.
Monica was diagnosed with advanced lung and liver cancer on June 27, and the 17 cycles of immunotherapy treatments she needs cost $8,000 each. Her friends shared on the GoFundMe page the type of person Monica is and the qualities her friends like most about her.
“Monica is a loving wife, mom, stepmom and grandmother – a beloved stylist to many, especially seniors, and friend to everyone she meets,” reads the fundraiser page. “Her passion for life is only exceeded by her kindness to others, and you’ll never forget her big beautiful smile.”
